Why a bond?

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and Jail (JCSO) was built in 1980 and has been in continuous use for more than 40 years.

The current jail facility faces significant challenges due to deteriorating structural and environmental conditions, inadequate space, and growing safety concerns for both staff and inmates.

Addressing these challenges requires a bond referendum be submitted to voters.
